ABOUT THIS PROGRAM
The International Master's Program of Learning and Instruction focuses on learner-centered instruction, learning theories and strategies, mobile learning, and learning assessment. International students who hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent are welcome. All courses are held in English. No TOCFL or Chinese tests required.
We believe instruction should be like the solar system, in which the sun is in the center and the planets revolve around it. Similarly, in a learning institution, students’ learning should be at the center, and the teaching, assessment, and learning environment work to facilitate it. With this belief in mind, we have established this program as a Master of Education (M.Ed.), hoping to promote innovative education such as cooperative learning, adaptive learning, problem solving, and/or project-based learning.
Founded in 1895, the National Taipei University of Education (NTUE) is the most prestigious teachers’ training institution in Taiwan. NTUE also founded the first graduate institute of Curriculum and Instruction in Taiwan. Many professors receive government funds to conduct research projects on learning, teaching, and assessment. With this strong professional background, NTUE started the International Master of Learning and Instruction in September 2017, to focus on research in the area of learner-centered instruction.
If you are looking for a place to：
(1) improve your teaching skills;
(2) learn the fundamental theories and concepts in learning and instruction;
(3) switch majors, or pursue cross-field training in education;
(4) experience teaching in a cross-cultural setting (Taiwan), our program might be the right place for you.
Our campus is centrally located in Taipei, which the capital city of Taiwan. It is close to a metro station and all major amenities. The on-campus Chinese-Learning Center, which has received thousands of students in the past 5 years, provides a variety of courses and resources for non-native students to improve their Chinese language skills. All in all, we are one of the best study destinations for foreign students pursuing degrees in Taiwan. We hope to bring international experience to Taiwan, and share our teaching perspective and education training with the world.
